By design
The Mint's production report lists each design separately: circulating production at Denver and Philadelphia. Design names are as the report prints them. This is a different count from the year table above. In 2025 the year table's total also includes 80,800,000 quarters the Mint files under its Semiquincentennial (2026) program, so it is larger than these designs alone.
The yearly totals and the per-design figures don't match for every year. Both come from the Mint's current production report: the year-by-mint table uses its yearly totals, the by-design table its figures for each design. Yearly total minus the sum of that year's designs: 2022 Denver: −600,000 (our calculation). The report doesn't explain the difference, so we show both as published and adjust neither.
